About David Gallagher

A native of Portland, Oregon
David grew up in the southwest Portland neighborhood of Vermont Hills and lived for a number of years in northwest Portland in the Forest Heights neighborhood. David and his wife, DeeAnn, live in the Forest Highlands neighborhood in Lake Oswego with their canine son, Harold.
David has two amazing daughters, Diana and Belle, who live in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Education
David attended Portland State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He also attended Multnomah University (formerly Multnomah Seminary) in Portland, Oregon and spent one year in the Masters of Biblical Studies program. He also attended LIFE Bible College in Los Angeles (now Life Pacific University) and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology degree.
Professional Life
David co-founded the international charity Open Arms International (OAI) and served as Chairman of the Board for 7 years and CEO for 15 years. He also established OAI as a registered charity in the UK and Kenya. Open Arms’ mission provided relief from all forms of suffering through medical, educational, and Christian ministry work. David lived and worked in Kenya six months each year for 12 years.
David successfully oversaw the design and construction of the multi-million dollar, 52 acre, Open Arms Village in Eldoret, Kenya, where orphans and vulnerable children were cared for in residential homes with a Kenyan mother and father. Each child also received a pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 education at the Open Arms Academy.
“The desire to serve people and to help them has always been part of who I am. It is that desire to help and serve others, which I have carried throughout my professional life in Christian ministry, that influences how I relate to, and interact with, my clients and others in my day-to-day real estate business. It’s about people; not about paychecks.
As your real estate representative and advisor, I will seek your highest and best good whether you are listing your house to sell or whether you are searching for the right house to buy. The most important things I can offer you are effective communication and honesty. If there is something right, I will tell you. If there is something wrong, I will tell you. If I believe your expectations are too low, I will tell you. If I believe your expectations are too high, I will tell you. And when we arrive together at that sweet spot of agreement in our communication, that is when remarkable things happen.
In what is arguably and statistically one of the most stressful times in life – buying or selling a home and moving – it is my goal to bring as much peace as possible to the process.”
